I was searching around for a good brunch spot to meet a friend for proper breakfast (9:00am to be exact). This was a challenge as most of the eateries in Seoul don’t open until at least 10 or 11:00am. After making a new calls I lucked upon Butterfinger Pancakes Gangnam station location which opens up bright and early at 7:00am.
Excited to have a real Western breakfast, I met my friend at Gangnam station and we walked to the brunch spot. (I’ll post directions at the bottom of the page).
What a cute little nook! The décor is really inviting and the atmosphere was chill. I forgot to get a shot of the menu but they offer a little bit of everything!
I opted for the Gingerbread Pecan pancakes (6,900won) and a bottomless cup of coffee (5,900 won). My friend went with the platter for a little bit of everything (18,900won). It was all well cooked and delicious. The meals came with a variety of toppings for the pancakes including 3 types of butter, maple syrup, and compotes.
|A little morning inspiration. I love it 🙂|
Is it cheap? Not really, but it’s not overpriced for this type of food in Gangnam. Is it worth it? Absolutely! As an expat you crave things from home. The atmosphere and food really fixes those cravings. I felt like I was back home having brunch in my neighborhood. You can’t put a price on that feeling.
|Sorry for the terrible storefront picture. I don’t know what I was thinking, but you get the idea.|
If you are hankering for a good breakfast, check them out. Gangnam station, Exit 10. Walk until you see The Body Shop. Hang left down that side street and walk 1-2 minutes. You’ll see it on the left near Burger King.
