(Hair) Style Tip: Spin Pins

Now I don’t have the luxury of running to Target or big box stores to hunt the latest or greatest, so forgive me if I’m behind trend on these. I had to share anyway!

I was sitting on the lakeshore with a friend (who is traveling the world and happened to meet up in France. Follow her here for some amazing photography!) She watched me struggle to get my hair in a bun, told me to wait, and came back holding these little pins. Spin Pins. “They do the work of 20 bobby pins,” she said.

They come in short and long styles for different hair lengths, and different colors, too!

I remember she gave me a few of these before her trip but honestly I didn’t know what to do with them. So I twisted my hair up in a bun (no pony tail necessary) and spun these in the lose ends. How cute are the results?! I couldn’t believe it. The bun lasted all day at the lake, too.

When I got home and took them out, I loved the curls I was left with. I’m sure they would be even cuter if my hair wasn’t lake water nasty, but you get the picture.

Have you tried these spin pins? What do you think? If you follow me at all you know I’m a top-knot queen, so I’m loving these things. They come in a variety of shades to match your hair color and don’t bend/break like traditional bobby pins. I’m going to need to give the longer ones she gave me another go when I get home.
